Why me?

I know good content and what it takes to create it because I have 15 years of experience as a professional editor and content strategist, and I’ve worked with many organizations, from startups to Fortune 500 companies. But what makes me specifically qualified to help you is that I’m also an entrepreneur and practitioner in the wellness space.

Someone recently said to me, “It’s like you can speak two languages.” That’s a pretty accurate analogy.

I left my 15-year corporate career to pursue my own Reiki business. (Read my story to find out why.) I came into it thinking I had the content part covered (hi, ego!), but I quickly realized that the approaches we use in the corporate world don’t always apply in the holistic world. We need a different approach because the work we do is often deeply personal and requires a certain level of vulnerability from our clients—and also from us.

Potential clients may seek us out for what we do, but they ultimately come to us because of why we’re doing it and who we are. They also need to trust us and know that we are credible. That means we need to separate ourselves from all of the misinformation about holistic healing and the superficial “wellness” nonsense that’s out there.

We need to take all of this into account when choosing the words we use to communicate with clients.
